This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Constance was a 14-gun, steel screw corvette. Later re-rated a third class cruiser.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down 14-Sep-1878, launched 09-Jun-1880 and completed 03-Oct-1882.

Sold 15-Dec-1899.
