This the first ship to carry the name HMS Constance was a sixth rate, 22-gun, ship.

Originally French, captured 09-Mar-1797 by HMS St Fiorenzo and Nymphe off Brest, 121ft 6in long, 31ft wide and of 535 tons builders measurement.

Recaptured by the French 12-Oct-1806 off the coast of France.
