HMS Cochrane (1907) CC  (1st)

    
This the first ship to carry the name HMS Cochrane was an Armoured Cruiser.

Built by Fairfield of Govan, laid down 24-Mar-1904, launched 20-May-1905 and completed 18-Feb-1907.

On completion joined the Home Fleet 1907-14, then the Grand Fleet 1914-17.

To the America & West Indies Station 1917. Returned to the Grand Fleet 1918 and detached to the White Sea at Murmansk where she was trapped in the ice. 1918.

Returned to the UK but stranded and wrecked in the Mersey estuary 14-Nov-1918.

Won the Battle Honour: Jutland 1916.
