Steel Screw Corvette 14-gun

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Champion was a 14-gun, steel screw corvette. Later re-rated as a third class cruiser.

Built by Elder of Govan, laid down 17-Aug-1876, launched 01-Jul-1878 and completed 07-Dec-1880.

Used for harbour service from 1904. Renamed HMS Champion (Old), 1915.

Sold 23-Jun-1919.
