This the third ship to carry the name HMS Centaur was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 14-Mar-1797, 176ft long, 49ft wide and of 1,842 tons builders measurement.

Broken up at Plymouth Nov-1819.

Won the Battle Honours: Minorca 1798, 'Curieux' 1804 and 'Sevolod' 1808.
