Composite Screw Gunboat 14-gun

    
This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Caroline was a 14-gun, composite screw gunboat.

Built at Sheerness Dockyard, launched 25-Nov-1882, 200ft long, 38ft wide and displacing 1,420 tons. Armed with 14 x 5in guns.

Used for harbour service from 1897, then a training ship. Renamed HMS Ganges (TS) Apr-1908.

Renamed again Sep-1913 as HMS Powerful III, then HMS Impregnable IV Nov-1919.

Sold 31-Aug-1928.
