This the first ship to carry the name HMS Carlisle was a fourth rate, 60-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Snelgrove of Deptford, launched 11-Feb-1693, 145ft long, 38ft wide, and of 912 tons builders measurement.

Wrecked 28-Jan-1696 at The Shipwash.
