This the first ship to carry the name HMS Cambrian was a fifth rate, 40-gun, ship.

Built by Parsons of Bursledon, launched 13-Feb-1797, 154ft long, 41ft 6in wide and of 1,160 tons builders measurement.

Wrecked 03-Jan-1828 Mediterranean.

Won the Battle Honour: Navarino 1827.
