This HMS Benbow was the second ship to carry the name and one of
five Admiral Class battleships.
Built by the Thames iron Works at Blackwall, laid down Nov-1882, launched 15-Jun-1885 and completed in Jun-1888. An initial deployment in the Mediterranean was from 1888-91. Then into Reserve until 1894, when she moved to Greenock as guardship, fro 1894-1904. After this she went back into Reserve. Sold 13-Jul-1909.
