HMS Benbow (1813)  (1st)
3rd Rate 72-gun 

    
This the first ship to carry the name HMS Benbow was a third rate, 72-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built by Brent of Rotherhithe, launched 03-Feb-1813, 176ft 6in long, 49ft wide and of 1,773 tons builders measurement.

Used for harbour service Feb-1848.

Reduced to a coal hulk Aug-1859

Sold 23-Nov-1892, and broken up at Woolwich 1895.

Won the Battle Honour: Syria 1840.
