This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Beagle was the name ship of a class of two 8-gun, copper sheathed steel hulled sloops.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, launched 28-Feb-1889, and completed Sep-1889, 195ft long, 28ft wide and displacing 1,170. Armed with 8 x 5in guns.

Sold 11-Jul-1905 for breaking up..
