This the third ship to carry the name HMS Battleaxe was one of
fourteen Type 22 (1979) Broadsword Class Frigates. Built by Yarrow Ltd, launched 18-May-1977, commissioned 28-Mar-1980. Sold to the Brazilian Navy 30-Apr-1997 and renamed BNS Rademaker.
