HMS Banshee (1847) (1st)

This the first ship to carry the name HMS Banshee was an iron paddle
packet. Designed a a single ship class for the Holyhead station. Built at Rotherhithe, launched 13-Oct-1847 189ft long 27ft wide and of 670 tons builders measurement. Based at Liverpool then Holyhead and fitted for Mediterranean service 1850/51. Broken up 1864. Won the Battle Honour: Crimea 1854-55.
