This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Bacchante was a 16-gun, iron screw corvette.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, launched 19-Oct-1876, 280ft long, 45ft 6in wide, and of 2,679 tons builders measurement, displacing 4,130 tons. Armed with 14 x 7in and 2 x 64pdr guns.

Sold 1897.
