HMS Aeolus (1894) CC  (4th)

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Aeolus was a 2nd Class Protected Cruiser.

Built at Devonport Dockyard, laid down 10-Mar-1890, launched 13-Nov-1891, and completed 06-Jan-1894.

On completion went to the Mediterranean 1894-95, then the China Station 1895-97. Returned to the UK and went into reserve 1897-1902.

Served as Flagship and Guardship at Queenstown 1902-03, then RNR Seagoing Drill Ship at Queenstown 1903-05. Returned to Devonport and again into reserve at Devonport 1905-11 during which she underwent a refit.

To the America & West Indies Station 1911-12, and finally served with the Training Squadron 1912-13.

Paid off 1913 and sold 1914.
