Wilton Class (1973) MCMV

The single ship Wilton Class of mine countermeasures vessels was a prototype ships based on the Ton Class (1952) and was the first warship in the world whose hull was constructed of Glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GRP).

The class was designed to test the concept of both minesweeping and minehunting in the same ship.
