Description |
The Battle took place at 11º 03' N, 79º 45' E, about 25 miles
south-east of Porto Novo on the coromandel coast of India, near Cuddalore.
Between a squadron of 10 British ships under Vice-Admiral George Pocock and
a French squadron of 11 ships under Commodore D'Ache. It was the third battle in the area and although inconclusive ended with the advantage to the British.
