HMS Zodiac (1944) DD  (1st)

     
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Zodiac was a Z Class (1944), destroyer.

Built by Thornycroft, laid down 07-Nov-1942, launched 11-Mar-1944, and commissioned 23-Oct-1944.

On commissioning joined the Home Fleet and served on either Russian convoy duty or Norwegian carrier raids until May-1945.

Then went to Denmark to help in its liberation.

Sold to Israel 15-Jul-1955, and renamed Yaffa.

Sunk 1973 as a target.

Won the Battle Honour: Arctic 1945.
