HMS Victorious (1896) BB  (3rd)

    

The third HMS Victorious was one of nine 15,000 ton Majestic Class battleships.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down in May-1894, launched 19-Oct-1895, and completed in Nov-1896. 

She served in the Channel Fleet 1896-1898, then briefly in the Mediterranean before going out to the China Station. Returned to the Mediterranean from 1900-03, before returning to home waters for a refit at Chatham.

After refit she served with the Channel, Atlantic or Home Fleets.

In 1914 was sent to the Humber, and Mar-1916 moved on to Scapa Flow as a base ship for dockyard workers who assisted with maintenance of the Grand Fleet.

Reamed Indus II 1920.

Sold for breaking up 19-Dec-1922, resold April 1923 and broken up at Dover..
