HMS Unicorn (1748)  (5th)
6th Rate 28-gun

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Unicorn was a sixth rate, 28-gun ship.

Built at Plymouth Dockyard, launched 07-Dec-1748, 118ft long, 33ft 6in wide and of 581 tons builders measurement.

Captured the French ship Abenakise 23-Jan-1757, which was renamed HMS Aurora.

After the battle of Quiberon Bay captured the French ship Vestale which was later commissioned into the Royal Navy as HMS Flora.

Broken up at Sheerness 09-Dec-1771.

Won the Battle Honour:  'Vestale' 1761.
