HMS Suffolk (1680)  (1st)
3rd Rate 70-gun

    
This the first ship to carry the name HMS Suffolk was a third rate, 70-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Johnson of Blackwall, 151ft long, 40ft wide and of 1,401 tons builders measurement (bm).

Rebuilt at Blackwall 1699 as 1,075 tons bm.

Rebuilt again at Woolwich 1739 as 1,224 tons bm and 64-guns.

Breaking up completed 12-Jun-1765.

Won the Battle Honours: Barfleur 1692, Gibraltar 1704 and Velez Malaga 1704.
