HMS Sparrow (1889) (6th)

This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Sparrow was an
8-gun, composite screw gunboat. Built by Scotts, launched 26-Sep-1889, 165ft long, 31ft wide and displacing 805 tons. Armed with 6 x 4in and 2 x 3pdr guns. Transferred to the New Zealand Government 10-Jul-1906 and renamed the training ship Amokura. Sold Feb-1922 as a coal hulk. Broken up 1955.
