This the third ship to carry the name HMS Sandown was the lead
ship of a class of 12 mine hunters. Built by Vosper Thorneycroft, launched 18-Apr-1988 and commissioned 09-Jun-1989. Decommissioned Jan-2005 and laid up pending disposal. Sold to Estonia Sep-2006 and after refitting was taken over Apr-2007 as EML Admiral Cowan.
