HMS Roxburgh (1905) CC  (1st)

    
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Roxburgh was an Armoured Cruiser.

Built by London & Glasgow of Govan, laid down 13-Jun-1902, launched 19-Jan-1904 and completed 05-Sep-1905.

On completion joined the Channel Fleet 1905-06, then went to the Atlantic Fleet 1906-07. Back to the Channel Fleet 1907-09. To the 3rd Fleet 1909-11, 2nd Fleet 1912-14.

On the outbreak of WW1 joined the Grand Fleet 1914-15.

Torpedoed by U-39 on 20-Jun-1915 and her bows seriously damaged. Repairs took until Apr-1916. On completion she went back to the Grand Fleet , and then went to the America & West Indies Station 1916-19.

On 12-Feb-1918 she rammed and sank U-89 off Northern Ireland.

Used as a Wireless Training Ship 1919-20.

Sold 1921 and broken up in Germany.
