HMS Porpoise (1888) CC  (8th)

     
This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Porpoise was a Scout Cruiser.

Built by Thomson of Clydebank, laid down 02-Mar-1885, launched 07-May-1886, and completed 12-Feb-1888.

On completion went to the China Station, 1888-97, then to Australia 1897-1901.

Returned to the UK for refit at Sheerness 1902-03.

After this it was to the East Indies Station 1903-04.

Sold at Bombay 10-Feb-1905.
