Wooden Screw Sloop

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Perseus was a wooden, screw, sloop.

Built at Pembroke Dock, launched 21-Aug-1861, 185ft long, 33ft wide and of 955 tons builders measurement.. Armed with 5 x 40pdr and 8 x 3pdr guns.

Used for harbour service from 1886.

Renamed Defiance II 1904.

Sold 26-Jun-1931.
