HMS Pathfinder (1905) CC  (1st)

    
This the first ship to carry the name HMS Pathfinder was the lead ship of a class of two Scout Cruisers.

Built by Cammell Laird of Birkenhead, laid down 15-Aug-1903, launched 16-Jul-1904, and completed 18-Jul-1905.

On completion Joined the Atlantic Fleet 1905-06, then the Channel Fleet 1906-07 for special service.

Into reserve 1907-08. Served as Scout for the 1st Destroyer Flotilla, Home Fleet 1909-10. Then the same work for the 4th Destroyer Flotilla, 3rd Fleet 1910-12. Once more into reserve 1912-13.

Attached to the 8th Destroyer Flotilla at the Nore 1913-14. Then the 8th Destroyer Flotilla at the Forth 1914. 

Torpedoed and sunk 05-Sep-1914 by U-21 in the North Sea with the loss of 259 of her crew.
