This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Lyme was a sixth rate, 24-gun, ship.

Built by Taylor of Rotherhithe, launched 17-May-1740, 106ft 6in long, 31ft wide and of 446 tons builders measurement.

Foundered 15-Sep-1747 in the Atlantic.
