This the second ship to carry the name HMS Lapwing was a sixth
rate, 28-gun, ship. Built by King of Dover, launched 21-Sep-1785, 120ft 6in long, 34ft wide and of 598 tons builders measurement. Used for harbour service from 1813. Broken up May-1828.
