HMS Intrepid (1967) LPD  (8th)

    
This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Intrepid was an Amphibious Assault Ship, or LPD (Landing Platform, Dock)

Built by John Brown on the Clyde, laid down 19-Dec-1962, launched 25-Jun-1964, and commissioned 11-Mar-1967.

Put into reserve 1991, and cannibalised 2000-2001 for spares for her sister ship HMS Fearless.

Listed for disposal Jul-2001.

Won the Battle Honour: Falkland Islands 1982.
