This the first ship to carry the name HMS Impregnable was a second rate, 98-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Deptford Dockyard, launched 15-Apr-1798, 178ft long, 49ft wide and of 1,887 tons builders measurement.

Wrecked near Chichester 18-Oct-1799.

Won the Battle Honour: First of June 1794.
