This the second ship to carry the name HMS Griffin was an 8-gun, fireship.

Built by Rolfe & Castle of Rotherhithe,  launched 17-Apr-1690, 95ft long, 25ft wide and of 266 tons builders measurement.

Rebuilt at Sheerness 1702.

Sold 21-Jul-1737.

Won the Battle Honour: Barfleur 1692, Vigo 1702, Velez Malaga 1704 and Passero 1718.
