HMS Empress Of India (1893) BB  (1st)

    
This the only HMS Empress of India was built as the second of the Royal Sovereign Class (1892) battleships.

Laid down in September 1889 and completed August 1893.

 First served with the Channel Fleet 1893 to 1897. The on to the Mediterranean until 1901. After a short time in Ireland she was refitted in 1902. 

After this she was either in Reserve or with the Home Fleet until 1911. Then after a final period in Reserve, she was used as a target ship and sunk in the Channel in 1913.
