This the third ship to carry the name HMS Earnest was the name
ship of a class of six torpedo boat destroyers. Built by Laird, laid down 02-Mar-1896, launched 07-Nov-1896, and completed Nov-1897. Went to the Mediterranean Sep-1898, and returned to the UK 1906. Sold 07-Jan-1920
