HMS Consort (1946) DD  (1st)

    
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Consort was a Co Class, destroyer.

Built by Stephen, laid down 26-May-1943, launched 19-Oct-1944, and commissioned 19-Mar-1946.

Suffered 10 dead and 23 wounded from communist Chinese forces while attempting to tow HMS Amethyst off the mud bank during the Yangtze incident of 1949.

Arrived at Swansea 15-Mar-1961 for breaking up.

Won the Battle Honour: Korea 1950-53.
