HMS Colossus (1911) BB  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Colossus, was built by Scotts, laid down in Jul-1909, launched 09-Apr-1910 and completed in Jul-1911.

She served with the Home Fleet 1911-14, and with the Grand Fleet during all of WW1. Was the only battleship in the main Battle Fleet to be hit at Jutland. Most of the damage was from a shell which exploded near the forward funnel on the port side.

After the war she served for a short time as a training ship and was sold Jul-1928.

She arrived at Rosyth for breaking up 05-Sep-1928.

Won the Battle Honour: Jutland 1916.
