HMS Campania (1916) CV  (1st)

    
This the first ship to carry the name HMS Campania was a seaplane carrier.

Originally a passenger liner, bought 27-Nov-1914, converted to a seaplane carrier. Conversion completed Apr-1916, 601ft long, 65ft wide and displacing 18,000 tons. Armed with 6 x 4.7in and 1 x 3in guns, and carried 10 aircraft.

Sunk 05-Nov-1918 following collision with Royal Oak and Glorious, in the Firth of Forth.
