HMS Audacity (1941) CVE  (1st)

    
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Audacity was an escort aircraft carrier.

Originally the German ship Hannover, captured Feb-1940, conversion completed Sep-1941, and initially named Empire Audacity. 435ft long, 56ft wide displacing 11,000 tons, armed with 1 x 4in and 6 x 20mm guns, carried 6 aircraft.

Sunk 21-Dec-1941 by U-751 in the Atlantic.

Won the Battle Honour: Atlantic 1941.
