This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Argo was a fifth
rate, 38-gun, ship. Originally HMS Active, renamed HMS Argo, 15-Nov-1833. Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 14-Dec-1799, 150ft long, 41ft wide and of 1,058 tons builders measurement. Used for harbour service from Feb-1826. Broken up Oct-1860 at Plymouth.
