HMS Apollo (1943) ML  (8th)

    
This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Apollo was a minelayer.

Built by Hawthorne Leslie, launched 05-Apr-1943, 418ft long, 39ft wide and displacing 2,650 tons. Armed with 4 x 4in and 8 x 40mm guns, and carried 100 mines.

Appeared at the Coronation Review 1953.

Arrived at Hughes Bolckow of Blyth for breaking up, Nov-1962.

Won the Battle Honour: Normandy 1944.
