This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Ant was an Ant
Class, one-gun, iron screw gunboat. The name ship of a class of 24. Built by Laird of Birkenhead, launched 14-Aug-1873. Used as a boom defence vessel from 1917, and then a target 1921. Sold 02-Jun-1926 for breaking up at Granton.
