This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Algerine was a 3 gun, wooden screw gunvessel, the name ship of a class of six.

Built by Pitcher of Northfleet, launched 24-Feb-1857.

Sold 02-Apr-1872 at Hong Kong.

Won the Battle Honour: China 1857-60.
