HMS Albatross (1938) CV  (6th)

    
This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Albatross was a seaplane carrier.

Originally HMAS Albatross built as a seaplane carrier in Australia, for the Royal Australian Navy. Completed 1928, 443ft 3in long, 58ft wide, drawing 16ft 3in and displacing 6,000 tons (7,130 full load).

Transferred to the Royal Navy 1938 and used as a repair ship from 1942.

Sold 19-Aug-1946 and renamed Pride of Torquay.

Won the Battle Honour: Atlantic 1942-43 and Normandy 1944
