| The
three ships of this class built by the Clydebank shipbuilders J & G Thomson
were torpedo boat destroyers. Part of the 1899-1900 construction programme.
They were laid down as spec ships and bought by the Admiralty on the stocks. Very similar to the same company's Kestrel Class (1900).
