Shakespeare Class (1917) DD |

| The
five ships of the Shakespeare Class (1917) were large destroyer leaders,
built to a design by Thorneycroft. One was ordered under each of the Nov-1915, Apr-1916, and Apr-1917 construction programmes. Four more in Mar-1918, but two of these were cancelled at the end of WW1 and the remaining two were not completed until 1925 due to the post-war construction slow down.
