B Class (1931) DD

The 1928 destroyer construction programme was a repeat of the 1927 A Class (1930) destroyers, with minor modifications.

All were laid down during the second half of 1929, launched 1930 and commissioned 1931. HMS Blanche had the dubious distinction of being the first Destroyer lost during WW2.

Four were sunk during WW2 and of the four survivors, three were paid off shortly after the war ended, and the last sold for scrapping after her return to RN service from Greece, in 1951.
