A mess deck fire ended her service on the 13th March 1968.
She was broken up in Faslane in July 1969.

Formidable 67/R67 24-Nov-1940 1953 Scrapped Inverkeithing Nov-1953.
Implacable 86R86 28-Aug-1944 1955 Completed as Implacable Class (1944).
Indefatigable 10/R10 03-May-1944 1954 Completed as Implacable Class (1944).
