Centaur Class (1916) CC

The two ships of the Centaur Class  were built using machinery and materials assembled for two cancelled Turkish ships.

They were similar to the Cambrian Class (1916), but had a uniform armament of 5 x 6in guns.  Despite additional width to accommodate the fifth gun , the Centaurs rolled considerably. In addition the concentration of weight forward made them tend to bury their bows in a head sea.

HMS Centaur's № 2 gun was removed in 1925 and HMS Concord had her №'s 2 and 4 guns removed in 1928.
