Description |
The action took place in New Zealand. Upset at having been swindled over land sales, some Maori natives rebelled against the colonial government. A squadron and a brigade of marines was despatched from the East Indies Station to deal with the problem. Low level actions continued in parts of the country until 1847 when terms were accepted by the Maori's.
