| The two
ships of the Conqueror Class (1886) were designed and built when ramming
was still considered a realistic tactic.
Unfortunately the fact that ramming needed superior speed and good manoeuvrability, was forgotten. Their layout only allowed them to engage targets ahead. They had little to commend them and spent virtually no time on active service.
